Winsor McCay was perhaps the greatest cartoonist of all time, known best for his groundbreaking newspaper comics and early animated films. His much loved and most enduring work is 'Little Nemo in Slumberland', a full page comic that ran every Sunday from 1905 to 1926. It was on these pages that McCay expanded the world of visual narrative: his stunning sequences, expressed through vivid illustrations and inventive panel compositions, became a cornerstone of modern comics.
In an exhibit based on Locust Moon Press" anthology 'Little Nemo: Dream another Dream', many of the world's finest cartoonists pay tribute to the master and his masterpiece by creating 118 Nemo inspired strips, following their own voices down paths lit by McCay.
